Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched strikes across the region in response for a large-scale and continuing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the government.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with great effectiveness and shot down a several projectiles," it added.

It said wreckage landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
