On the eve of his six-year milestone as manager, Mikel Arteta has made it clear that his longevity in North London is inextricably linked to achieving success.

“Absolutely,” he stated when questioned about staying beyond 2027. “Yet it's about today. And a lot of things must occur in the coming months as well to warrant that continuation.”

Regardless of the availability issues and the high-stakes environment, Arteta is confident the club's “priorities and messaging” are profoundly distinct from when he began his reign.
